I t isn’t easy to get back up after falling so many times. And the fact that you’ve always managed to stand again and keep walking matters little. A moment comes when you stop believing there could be a destination beyond the horizon.

I was tempted to stop. To give up. Once, I even did—though only halfway. In retrospect, it was more a pause for reflection… even if it lasted a few years. It happened when Lady Depression came to visit me. I made her some tea, we ate biscuits, and discussed her perspective on me: she told me I was heading in the wrong direction.

She was right.
